CES 2024-25
Enthusiasm to learn new things is a symbol of humanity's quest for knowledge and the cause for the phenomenal pace of his evolution. Indeed, it is unthinkable to link innovation and new insights into our lives without continued quest for enhancement of our knowledge. Learning, a lifelong activity, done through a formal set up like school/colleges/universities or such other environment to gain knowledge, skills and character traits is said to be education. The importance of education is reflected in the Goal 4 (SDG4) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which was adopted by India in 2015. It seeks to "ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all" by 2030. This Goal is envisaged in the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020). Fast development in several knowledge domains, particularly in science and technology, has led to the need to enhance one's existing knowledge and competency for the purpose of staying relevant as well as up-to-date in the domain area which will empower for further innovation and expression of creativity. The NEP 2020 also provides opportunity to the learners of any age/profession discipline to design their academic pathways by studying a variety of papers in different academic institutions. This is specifically enabled by credit mobility through Academic Bank of Credit for the students.
